On Deck
An attempt to showcase my listening habits and growing vinyl collection
#ondeck My Bloody Valentine - “Loveless” - just The Godfathers of shoegaze classic record. Nbd
#ondeck - Weezer “Blue Album”: no real explanation needed. A classic 90s rock record
#ondeck - Chad Valley EP: A great record with early 90s pop sensibilities. Danceable and catchy record!
#ondeck - "Channel Pressure" - Ford & Lopatin: one of my favorite records of all time. The best records are those that you’re unsure of at first listen, but you keep listening over time and you eventually just fall in love.
#ondeck - “Stardust” Willie Nelson: Sweet Americana takes of pop standards. Not his best work by any means but there are some pretty gems on here.
#ondeck - Sufjan Stevens “Michigan”: the perfect blend of melancholy and nostalgia for your home. Beautiful vocal arrangements and instrumentation. A good listen for when the rain has finally stopped
#ondeck - Eric B and Rakim “Let the Rhythm Hit ‘Em” - just some old school classic MCs
#ondeck Stomu Yamashta “Sea and Sky”- Dramatic, synthesizer orchestral experimental music with moments of weirdly accessible pop.
#ondeck - Seals & Crofts “Summer Breeze” - some smooth bready jams and delightful harmonies
#ondeck Tangerine Dream - Optical Race - Amazing record. Moments of bliss and technical synth complexity.
#ondeck Civilization - NE Florida doom chug!!
#ondeck Kitaro - Tenku. Some ahead of his time Vangelis-esque sounds. Lots of synths combined with traditional instrumentation.
#ondeck Jim O’Rourke “Eureka” - a collection of sweetly arranged acoustic fingerpicking and vocal harmonies. A melancholy and yet vibrant listen, perfect for a sunny day. First heard on the amazing indie film Love Liza.
#ondeck one of my favorite guitarists pairing up with another guitar legend
